Admission & Discharge

Admission

 

1- Checking the date of admission and the completeness of admission form once patients’ arrival.

2- Checking patient’s health insurance type and class.

3- Asking patients with ministry of health insurance to visit the coordinating committee office to get the approval on patients’ admission and stay (from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. during working days)

4- Reserving the appropriate place for patients according their physician’s order and their health insurance.

5- Guiding patients to JUH accounting office to complete their health insurance documents.

6- Informing the nursing team in the medical floors to prepare patients’ beds and to receive them.

7- Checking patients’ ID and Health insurance cards.

8- Electronically documenting patients’ administrative, social, financial required information.

9- Requesting patients’/ their fellows’ signature on their admission forms.

10- Printing patients’ admission documents.

11- Providing patients with an identification armband upon admission.

12- Providing patients with a bag upon admission containing their major needs.

13- Informing patients of their rights and responsibilities.

14- Guiding patients to their rooms and answering their inquiries concerning their hospital stay.

15- Patients’ medical records are sent automatically to patients medical floors upon their admission process.

16- JUH admission office holds the responsibility of getting the approval on admissions of patients of the Ministry of Health, Royal Hashemite Court, and Prime Ministry admitted to hospital after JUH official working hours.

 

 

 ER Admissions

1- The coordination between ER clerk and JUH admission office to complete patients’ admissions.

2- Completing admission procedure (through implementing the steps mentioned above), taking into account the criticality of some emergency cases.

3- ER nursing team carries the responsibility of guiding patients to their floors after completing their admission procedure.

 

Discharge:

When it is time to leave the hospital:

1- Patient’s attending physician will write a discharge order.

2- Patient’s medical record is submitted to the nursing team.

3- Patient’s discharge form must be signed by the clerk.

4- The nursing team sends the prescription to the pharmacy.

5- Patients are guided to JUH accounting office to complete their discharge procedures and to get their Form of receipt.

6- Patients are given an appointment to visit outpatients’ clinics, a copy of their discharge document, and their prescription.

7- For getting a notification of birth or death, Jordanians are requested to bring their family books, while passports for non-Jordanians.
